Pastor Gregory Allen
Pastor Gregory Allen, a native of Baltimore, Maryland, is a devoted servant of God who has dedicated his life to ministry, leadership, and service. With 20 years of honorable service in the United States Army, he exemplifies a commitment to excellence and integrity. While stationed in Germany in 1983, Pastor Gregory Allen answered God's call into the Gospel ministry, embarking on a lifelong journey of preaching, teaching, and sharing the love of Christ.
For 35 years, Pastor Allen served faithfully as an Associate Minister at Israel Baptist Church of Baltimore City under the distinguished leadership of Pastor H. Walden Wilson II. During his tenure, he engaged in various capacities, including Evangelism, Christian Education, Sunday School instruction, and New Disciples Classes. He also contributed significantly to the Music Ministry, leading Praise and Worship services that inspired congregations through heartfelt worship.
In 2024, after much prayer, seeking God's direction, and receiving a clear vision from the Lord, Pastor Gregory Allen convened a meeting to share the divine call for the planting of New Life Mission Baptist Church & Ministries (NLMBCM). This exciting vision was embraced, and on September 15, 2024, NLMBCM was officially recognized by the State of Maryland as a religious entity.
The inaugural worship service of New Life Mission Baptist Church & Ministries was held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the Hilton Garden Inn–White Marsh, located at 5015 Campbell Boulevard, Baltimore, Maryland. Since that historic moment, the ministry has flourished as a place where lives are transformed through the preaching of God's Word, authentic worship, discipleship, and community outreach. Weekly worship services take place every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. In June 2026, the church secured a building at 730 S. Marlyn Avenue, Essex, MD 21221.
Pastor Gregory Allen is recognized for his passion for God's people, his heart for evangelism, and his unwavering commitment to teaching biblical truth. As a preacher, teacher, worship leader, and shepherd, he remains steadfast in fulfilling God's mission and leading others into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
Through faith, perseverance, and obedience to God’s call, Pastor Gregory Allen continues to lead New Life Mission Baptist Church & Ministries with a clear faith statement that embodies the vision of bringing hope, healing, and new life to all who seek Christ.
Pastor Allen is happily married to Adrienne Gilchrist Allen and is the proud father of four children, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
FAITH STATEMENT
What We Believe as a Church
Our existence is ordained by God, and our preaching and teaching, based on our faith statement rooted in the Holy Bible, affirm our belief in its infallibility. We hold the doctrine of the Trinity—The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit—as one God in three persons.
In line with the Biblical account of creation per Genesis, we believe God created male and female for reproduction to populate the earth, and that marriage is intended to be between one man and one woman.
We also uphold the belief in the virgin birth, the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus now sits at the right hand of God the Father on the throne and will soon return to redeem His church unto Himself.
Our faith statement emphasizes that Jesus is the only way to God, and once a person has given their life to Christ, they receive eternal life according to the scriptures. Following salvation, we believe the new believer is instructed to be baptized, which serves as an outward sign of an inward conversion in their relationship with Jesus, rather than a means of salvation.
We stress the importance of every believer having a church home—a covering—to avoid spiritual homelessness. Regular attendance at worship and Bible study, along with personal study of the Bible, is essential for personal growth and development, especially in the context of church planting activities.
Additionally, we believe in the regular observance of the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion) for every believer, as guided by our faith principles. Pastor Gregory Allen emphasizes these beliefs to cultivate a strong community of faith.
